Infinity Studio <The Lord of the Rings> Arwen 1/2 Silicone Statue
[Character Background]
Arwen, full name Arwen Undómiel, is an Elven character from J.R.R. Tolkien's novel The Lord of the Rings. She was born in the year 241 of the Third Age and passed away in the year 121 of the Fourth Age; her birthplace was Middle-earth. Her father was Elrond, Lord of Rivendell, and her mother was Celebrían, Princess of Lothlórien. Arwen possesses the bloodlines of the three great Elven royal houses: the Noldor, the Sindar, and the Vanyar. As a descendant of Half-elven lineage, she held the right to choose between the fate of the Elves or that of Mortal Men.
[Character Biography]
- Early Years: Born in the year 241 of the Third Age. After her mother, Celebrían, sailed West, she was primarily raised by her maternal grandparents.
- Meeting and Falling in Love: In Third Age 2951, Aragorn saw her in Rivendell and fell in love at first sight. In 2980, they pledged their troth upon the hill of Cerin Amroth in Lothlórien.
- Choice and Gift: In order to be with her beloved, Arwen resolved to forsake immortality, agreeing to her father's condition that they could wed only after Aragorn was crowned King. Before the War of the Ring, she bestowed upon Aragorn the "Evenstar," an Elven jewel symbolizing her immortality.
- Coronation and Queenship: In Third Age 3019, following the downfall of Sauron and Aragorn's coronation as King of Gondor, the two were subsequently married in Minas Tirith.
- Farewell and Finale: In Fourth Age 120, Aragorn passed away. The following winter, in year 121, Arwen died alone in Lothlórien and was laid to rest at the place of their betrothal.
[Character Personality]
- Gentle, Serene, and Profoundly Wise: Bearing one of the Three Elven Rings—Vilya, entrusted to Elrond—she is an emblem of wisdom. Graceful and quiet, she carries an unhurried confidence and an innate warmth.
- Loyal, Loving, Steadfast, and Brave: In love, she is tender yet unyielding, willing to relinquish eternal life for her beloved and endure the sorrow of parting. In the novels, she will even take up arms for the one she loves.
- Noble, Elegant, with an Undertone of Tragedy: From her gift of the Evenstar necklace to her ultimate choice to perish for love, her story is one of poignant destiny and undying devotion.
