In reality, Velociraptor was a genus of dromaeosaurid theropod dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous period, inhabiting what is now the Mongolia–China border alongside many other unique species. Roughly the size of a wolf, Velociraptor was covered in feathers and possessed a distinctly bird-like appearance—far different from its cinematic portrayal and more closely resembling a flightless hawk.
This unique set allows collectors to compare a Velociraptor foot claw alongside a fossilized claw, highlighting the contrast between anatomical reconstruction and paleontological reference. Both claws were hand-sculpted and hand-painted by Very Museum key artist Oskar Ankarudd. Each claw is displayed on a prop-auction–style acrylic base and can be removed for closer inspection.
